Janet Myers LCSW
Janet Myers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her degree from Loyola University. Janet has been practicing in the field for over 20 years. Her experiences include working in private practice and in school settings. Janet has developed numerous groups for youth, which include social skills: girls group, pet therapy group, transition to school, and problem solving groups. She works with individual, family, children, adolescents, groups, and couple counseling. The populations she works with include: ADHD, Asperger’s, parenting, behavioral issues, victims of bullying, depression, anxiety, marital conflict, and family divorce. Janet also has expertise in program development and supervision.
Professional Orientation:
Mrs. Myers utilizes a problem solving /cognitive behavioral approach. She focuses on where the client is at and partners with them in their journey to recovery. She utilizes handouts and assignments to facilitate growth and learning. Janet helps clients develop awareness into the relationship between thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs. This awareness allows clients to not only experience better insight into their problems but more control over their lives as well.
